The LifeRay HM Plus and LifeRay FM films are single-sided green sensitive films designed for use with the LifeRay UltraFine Mammo emitting screen. Both films have an isometric silver halide emulsion coated on the front side and an antihalation layer on the backside that totally eliminates image artifacts caused by scattered light not absorbed by the front emulsion. This ensures very high quality images and superb definition that can reveal even the smallest micro-calcifications.
LifeRay HM Plus Film: Very High Definition, Medium Sensitivity
LifeRay HM Plus is a medium speed, very high definition film. The sensitometric characteristic curve of this film was specifically designed to obtain low minimum density and high toe, straight-line and shoulder contrast with maximum density values of approximately 4.00 density units. LifeRay HM Plus is an ideal film for clinical examinations and mammography magnifications where very high quality images are needed to record all the anatomic structures of the breast. The extremely low granularity and absence of light scattering ensure images with very high definition and high diagnostic content that make possible more accurate diagnoses.
LifeRay FM Film: High Sensitivity High Definition
LifeRay FM film was designed to provide the best balance between image quality and speed. Due to its enhanced speed, LifeRay FM is the ideal film for mammography screening examinations in which X-ray exposure must be reduced to a minimum. In addition, the film's extremely low granularity and absence of light scattering produces images of very high image quality that make possible more accurate diagnoses.
LifeRay UltraFine Mamma Intensifying Screens: Enhanced Sharpness
LifeRay UltraFine Mammo intensifying screens provide the level of image quality required for mammography examinations. They have a very high X-ray-to-light conversion efficiency. The sensitivity achieved with the screens ensure low doses for the patient, short exposure times and, as a result, reduced risk of blurring due to patient movement. LifeRay UltraFine Mammo intensifying screens contain a layer of rare earth phosphors (terbium activated gadolinium oxysulfide) with a very narrow grain size distribution. The phosphor layer thickness is optimized and the screen's structure contains a non-reflecting layer. These features eliminate light scattering and ensure the correct final image sharpness levels for mammography examinations.
LifeRay Mammo Cassette: Low Dose, High Image Quality
The LifeRay UltraFine Mammo cassette is designed for mammography applications. It features low X-ray absorption, robustness and reduced weight to make handling easier. LifeRay UltraFine Mammo cassette's
structure ensures excellent cassette-to-screen and film-to-screen contact producing superior quality images.
Rapid Processing Cycles: Higher Productivity
The LifeRay HM Plus and LifeRay FM films have been designed to be processed in high quality, high productivity processors such as the LifeRay PRO 2000 Mammo, with 90-second to 3-minute cycles using standard chemicals such as LifeRay XAD-3. The use of LifeRay APS HQ hardener-free developer together with the standard LifeRay XAF-3 fixer optimizes the image quality to obtain mammographies with enhanced contrast and a colder tone.
Consistent Results: Statistical Process Control
All phases of the LifeRay HM Plus and FM film, LifeRay UltraFine screen and LifeRay Mammo cassette
production processes, from supply of raw materials to packaging, are controlled using statistical methods. Statistical Process Control (SPC) ensures that film, screen and cassette products are produced with the highest possible consistency.
